SMMART Inc is a 501 (c)(3) non-profit organization dedicated to education and awareness related to disinformation, misinformation and all types of online manipulation. Data shows that biases make people more vulnerable to disinformation and social media manipulation. Education focuses on helping individuals recognize bias in themselves and media. We seek to provide young adults with the knowledge and skills necessary to protect them from online and social media threats including: manipulation, exploitation, victimization and radicalization. We empower children and young adults to make smart decisions online by increasing awareness of the motives and methods utilized to manipulate them. Through education, we can help to make US social media consumers immune to disinformation and misinformation and other forms of manipulation.
