Mission: To identify, invest in and grow promising social enterprises and entrepreneurs in South Africa,specifically those operating in local communities, creating employment and with high social impact.The Social Investment Africa Fund is a Non-Profit Organisation and a social enterprise itself, meaning all funds are reinvested to fulfil our purpose.(Website under construction)Offering to Social Enterprises:- Affordable loans and other finance- Access to a network of markets and resources- Business-support including mentoring, advisory, accounting and legal- Help maximizing the social impact with ongoing , long-term partnerships that grow each enterpriseCriteria: Enterprises must be- Trading for at least 12 months, and potentially profitable- Have a demonstrable social impact including employment generation- Have an aspiration to increase their footprint- Entrepreneurial, owner-runSocial Investment Africa will work with enterprises to evaluate what investment mix is appropriate for them, and to develop their growth proposal.Social Investment Africa is an NGO and a Social Impact Fund, and is led by a group of business people who harness the power of capital to make a difference in South Africa's society.They make their contributions pro-bono.They have commercial backgrounds including Social Enterprise, Community-Lending, Private Banking and Legal, but all share one vision.
