The SDSS promotes the profession of dermatology skin care through interdisciplinary collaboration and by acting as a resource about the profession for other health care professionals.The Society of Dermatology SkinCare Specialists members have worked with the National Coalition of Estheticians, Manufacturers/Distributors & Associations (NCEA) to help develop the National Esthetician Certification. The NCEA Certified credential was launched in 2007 and the Commission on Accreditation (COA) was launched in 2009 for continuing education accreditation.SDSS's ongoing mission is to provide a forum of learning for Estheticians working in dermatology skin care practices, and getting the National Esthetician Certification is the recommended first step.The organization will facilitate open communication among its members and also act as a resource and support system for its members.
