The Socio-Technical Risk Analysis (SoTeRiA) Research Laboratory, directed by Professor Zahra Mohaghegh, in the Grainger College of Engineering at the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign (UIUC), provides scientific and innovative research solutions to complex real-world problems of safety, reliability, profitability, and security. SoTeRiA Research Laboratory, established in the Department of Nuclear, Plasma, and Radiological Engineering (NPRE) at UIUC, is a multidisciplinary research laboratory that has a proven track record of developing scientific and innovative approaches for risk assessment, risk management, and risk-informed decision-making and regulation. SoTeRiA lab's key research impacts include (1) making scholarly contributions to risk analysis of complex socio-technical systems; (2) bridging foundational research with industry and regulatory challenges; (3) providing strong leadership in risk analysis conferences; (4) advancing risk-informed solutions for new technologies; and (5) promoting international safety and security through risk analysis.
