SOFIMUN Foundation Details
The Sofia International Model United Nations (SOFIMUN) Foundation is an international non-governmental organization (NGO), member of the United Nations Global Compact. The priority of the Foundation is to engage the society, particularly young academicians, in activities and international dialogue, to support the intermediation between the society and various organizations and authorities of international bodies. The SOFIMUN Foundation keeps close partnership with the UN through its membership in the UN Global Compact and projects, created with the involvement of the international organization as the UN Information Service Office in Vienna, the United Nations Parliamentary Assembly campaign and others. Members of the SOFIMUN Foundation are specialists from different parts of Europe and Africa, involved in establishment of partnerships, training and preparation of students and teams, promotion, academic background , organization and implementation of conferences and summits on national and international level, advisory and analysis, cooperation and academic involvement in similar organizations. Members of the Board of Trusties of the Foundation are figures from various international and national organizations, governments and prominent academics from Rotary Bulgaria, Open Society Institute, Sofia Municipality, Friedrich Ebert Foundation in Bulgaria, Bulgarian Business Leaders Forum, the Embassy of Hungary to Republic of Bulgaria, United Nations Association in Bulgaria.
