Solar Harvest AS is an independent Norwegian company focusing on upstream biofuel and food production. The Company was founded in 2009 by Arne Helvig and Steinar Kolnes. The Company, through its subsidiary Solar Harvest Ltd., is creating a Sustainable Future in accordance with our FOOD FIRST principle BioFuel Africa delivers environmentally friendly food- and biofuel products through sustainable production methods and socially responsible business practices. We always ensure that our FOOD FIRST principle is strictly followed in all locations where we are operating. Our policy is further to increase food production in terms of volume and land area to ensure food security on a local level. Solar Harvest Ltd. produces different verities of food crops as maize, rice, soybeans and vegetables. Solar Harvest operates under the key principles of low cost and sustainable production, encompassing profitable return, social responsibility and environmental consciousness. The Company has a signed Lease Agreement for 13,000 ha in the Northern Region near Tamale where current operations take place and additional Contracts for a Lease agreements for approximately 142,000 hectares, giving a total of 155,000 ha of own managed land in Ghana. The Company aims to establish itself as a large scale producer of food crops and jatropha oil for the local and international market.
