Environmental Services - Los Angeles, California, United States
Sun King Solar, Inc. (SKS), founded by solar industry pioneer, H.E. Ambassador Ishaq Shahryar, and John Paul DeJoria, a renowned entrepreneur, is establishing production facilities in Los Angeles, California to manufacture Thin-Film solar photovoltaic (PV) cells and modules using Copper, Indium, Gallium, Diselenide (CIGS) technology. SKS has licensed the latest generation of CIGS technology from the U.S. Department of Energy National Renewable Energy Laboratory (US DOE NREL) which recently achieved 20% sun-to-electricity conversion efficiency. SKS will initially set up a manufacturing line to produce 25 megawatts (MW) of solar modules per year. Ambassador Shahryar, founder of the solar energy industry and posthumous recipient of the United Nations Technology Innovation Award as the "Inventor of Solar Technology", established Solec International in 1976, the first module manufacturing company in the U.S. which ranked among the top three solar cell manufacturers in the world. In 1994, Mr. Shahryar sold Solec to Sanyo Electronics and Sumitomo Bank of Japan. Mr. DeJoria is a successful entrepreneur who has consistently supported causes for environmentally friendly resources. Sun King Solar, Inc. is doing business currently as Solec International, having retained the rights to that name. I am currently heading up our efforts to acquire large, environmentally savvy, Earth conscience commercial, high-end residential and international clients who are interested in zero-carbon-emission energy solutions. I am based at our corporate offices in Pacific Palisades.
