How will our large industries ever go green? How do these polluting businesses manage to use renewable energy to power their 24/7 operations? The answer is here: metal fuels. When metal fuels are burned, heat is released and the metals turn into metal oxides. The released heat can be used to power our heavy industries. The metal oxides formed during the combustion are captured and are regenerated to metals with green electricity. In this way, this sustainable cycle powers our industries anywhere, at any time.We are SOLID, a student team at Eindhoven University of Technology, working on the novel method of storing renewable energy in metal fuels.
