Solidarity Hall began in 2013 as an ecumenical but Catholic-rooted group blog, an extended conversation around themes of civic and community renewal. From then our activities have shifted and grown, little by little, even to the point of enjoying some national recognition.] Read Nathan Schneider's April 2016 introduction to Solidarity Hall for America Magazine:] https://www.americamagazine.org/content/all-things/solidarity-hall-new-place-old-stuffThat conversation continues in spaces virtual — besides a presence in the usual social media venues, we now have an outlet at Patheos network where we publish short pieces under "The Dorothy Option" — as well as physical. In New York, this year, Solidarity Hall has been part of the inception of "City and Kingdom," a new occasional series of evening events sponsored by Plough Magazine and The Davenant Trust. 2017 finds us behind mics for the first time, too: now several episodes into a podcast we've called "Dorothy's Place."] Join the conversation at our Patheos node: http://www.patheos.com/blogs/thedorothyoption] Or listen to one of our recent podcast discussions: https://soundcloud.com/dorothysplaceWe are a publishing organization with two books released and several titles in planning. We have ventured into local civic organizing, partnering with others in Valparaiso, Indiana, to establish an ongoing town-and-neighborhood project called C-Lab. At present, our main energies are devoted to bringing together what promises to be a uniquely configured national conference responding to Pope Francis' (and, among other notables, Bernie Sanders') urgent call for a turn to moral economy.
