With more than 175 million motors sold, Somfy is the world leader in automatic controls for openings and closures in homes and buildings. With an average of 40 new patents per year, Somfy has demonstrated its vision and innovative strength for 50 years. The company launched the first tubular motor for awnings in 1969, introduced io homecontrol as one of the first bidirectional radio protocols in 2007, and is currently focusing on an interoperable smart home world with TaHoma® and the "So Open" initiative.
