Somlo Wine Shop was originally founded to represent all winegrowers from Hungary's smallest appellation, Somló-hill ( pron: shomlo ). Somló is a 6 million year old extinct volcano, located in N-West Hungary. We sell over 150 different Somló-wines from 40+ different local growers. Our wines can also be tasted on site. From 2013 we launched our online sales through our webshop, www.borarum.hu. Here we extended our selection to other distinct terroir wine regions of Hungary, focusing on mostly volcanic wines. Although still based on Somló-hill in the original, 60m2 small winecellar, the shop now ships to 26 European Countries and is the main organiser of large, national- and international events for the promotion of the region and its unique wines.
