The Sophia Akash Foundation, CIO (UK) is a Charitable Foundation focused upon improving the livelihoods of the poor and unserved. Our mission is to build sustainable paths out of poverty for rural, tribal and marginal families and their communities. We work closely with our Social Enterprise and NGO partners across India, Nepal, East Africa and other South, SE Asian and African countries. We incubate, develop and help accelerate our social enterprise partners using proven methodologies and innovative technologies to help deliver affordable livelihood services on a scalable, economically sustainable and wherever possible, in a replicable manner. Our "recipes" are sustainable delivery models that empower especially the female members of these vulnerable communities to help themselves build a sustainable path out of poverty. We believe that improving their livelihoods requires multiple solutions. We have developed knowledge and understanding across 7 important sectors including Financial Inclusion, Sustainable Agriculture, Healthcare, Education, Clean Energy and WASH (Water, Sanitation and Hygiene).We share this knowledge to encourage further collaboration, propagation and to inspire greater collective action. With a heavy emphasis on improving Gender Equality and addressing Climate Change, we remain focused upon inspiring change makers to build sustainable paths out of poverty.
