The power of news cannot be overemphasized especially in this era of digitalization where any information can be accessed just by the click of a button. This in itself shows how far the world has come from the age of telegrams and letters. However, this innovation has its problems which if not curbed, could destroy the very essence of our freedom of speech as a people. A major problem is fake news which are mainly come from the pages on social media apps and how it is affecting the lives of people all over the world. Another noticeable need in the digital media industry is the desire to have a one-stop app through which people can access different types of news/information irrespective of the genre. As a result, we have developed an app called SORS which will solve the above problems and meet the identified needs. The goal behind this App development is that people will no longer have to worry about the authenticity behind a news story or its source but would rather be empowered by the information and it will also give room for different genres of news within one app which caters to the need to check several news sources for different categories of news , and also the users can access to their local area news from the top reputed local newspapers and other well-known local sources, All information accessible on the SORS app are from reliable and credible sources including TV channels, radio channels, specialized magazines etc.
