Soundworks is a meditation app at the intersection of art and science, offering to meditation with modern electronic sounds exclusively designed by artists of the underground music industry.We believe that sound is a naturally easier support to meditation and is as a result accessible to a larger audience. Our mission is to leverage the power of sound to retrain the ear in an effort to re-establish our relationship with listening—both internally and externally—through a range of sound-supported meditative practices. Most meditation music we hear today uses the same usual acoustic instruments: gongs, singing bowls, crystals, etc. We think that the virtual infinity of timbres and textures we can generate with modern sound design is still a largely untapped resource for sound meditation. Moreover, while some existing meditation music is tasteful, most of what we hear around today does not really cut it for those who have a deeper and more exploratory relationship with sound and music.We are a small team of producers, designers, and technologists with a fierce belief that the quality of our attention underpins our very notion of reality and influences every aspect of how we think, feel and communicate.
