The SAIVP is an institute that promotes a culture of non-violence through evidence-based primary prevention & advocacy, multi-sector engagement and governance.Vision: A cohesive, peaceful South African society for all who live in it.Strategic Objectives:Our strategic objectives includes to eliminate violence through implementation of evidence-based primary prevention programmes with a focus on women, children, vulnerable groups and men; to enhance the quality of life for women, children and vulnerable groups through application of evidence-based advocacy strategies to reduce violence; to strengthen governance linked to violence prevention through increased public accountability and social accountability measures; to address the economic and socio-cultural factors that foster a culture of violence against women and children, in particular social and cultural norms around masculinity, gender and power relations, including harmful drinking, drug abuse and availability of firearms; and to create a credible violence prevention institute whose primary aim is to focus on non-violence and operates as a high performance social enterprise with a culture of good governance, exceeding expectations of beneficiaries, donors and employees.
