South Asian Parent is the first online magazine for South Asian families worldwide that brings together parenting information, ideas, and experiences. We offer guidance and provide perspectives with which to tackle the ever-changing domain of South Asian parenthood. We aim to: * increase understanding of parental and child development * foster communication between parents, children, and family members * raise awareness on taboo topics often the cause of disagreement within South Asian families * provide insight on the multitude of cultural, historical, and societal pressures faced by the South Asian community South Asian Parent envisions a change—change in the way South Asian parents and children communicate, build relationships, and understand each other. As we share information, and teach and learn from each other, we will begin to grow. As parents, if we learn to appreciate the positive aspects of the differing cultures we often fight against, we may be able to step into the footsteps of our children, even if for a fleeting, yet insightful, moment.
