South of the City (SOC) was a social enterprise focused on activating creative spaces on the southside with music, art and film. Run by a network of young people – musicians, artists, filmmakers and dancers - invested in supporting, promoting and putting on arts events closer to home.Since this project has ended, the team behind SOC Saturday nights at The Espy have formed their own booking agency: "Jane Doe". If you liked what South of the City was doing, make sure to support this new local promotions company 🚀Between August 2017 - February 2020, SOC put on over 130 gigs, exhibitions and film screenings in local venues on the southside. Melbourne's network of established venues has been traditionally focused in and above the city.
