Southend Fringe Festival is a fast-growing arts festival, and welcomes new and creative performances from Southend and the surrounding counties.The fringe had its first run in July 2016, and has seen substantial growth in audience reach, calibre of artists and ticket sales since. We welcomed the award-winning and international smash-hit Sh!tfaced Shakespeare and winner of the Best Newcomer Award at the 2018 Edinburgh Comedy Awards, Maisie Adam, to the main stage of our 2019 festival with all headliners selling out! The festival takes place in the summer each year and is a prominent event for performers to try out new work, before the famous August Edinburgh fringe. We are excited to continue working with the Southend BID and surrounding partners on creating the improved cultural landscape of Southend.
