The Southern Africa Coal Processing Society started in 1967 with three companies, namely Trans-Natal with Stan Lynch as representative, Rand Mines with Morris Milner as representative and Anglo with Tony Walters as representative.The Society is a non-profit organisation of coal processing engineers and associated disciplines and was established with the primary objective being to create a forum for the exchange of ideas and to advance the use and processing of coal.The aims of the society include to provide a forum for the exchange of knowledge related to coal processing by means of meetings, conferences, seminars and colloquia.To further the education and understanding of coal processing by Society members and industry personnel.To foster co-operation with appropriate educational institutions and other similar organisations for the furtherance of coal processing knowledge.To distribute any accumulated funds to support our objectives.
