Southern Cross Care Queensland is a not-for-profit organisation established by the Knights of the Southern Cross, an Australia-wide Catholic service organisation.Over 40 years ago, the Knights saw a need in the community to provide compassionate care and inclusive service to the most vulnerable in our community, the ageing population. After years of hard work and perseverance, the doors to our first aged care home, Archbishop Duhig Court, were opened at Holland Park in 1979.While times have changed, our unwavering commitment to the provision of the highest quality services, and the care, love and respect that we offer to those who choose to come to live with us or use our services, remains steadfast. Today, Southern Cross Care Queensland operates 5 retirement villages, 12 aged care facilities, 28 social houses, NDIS services and community home care services across South East Queensland. And, we're growing!It is our privilege to offer 24/7 care and support to more than 2000 older people across rural and metropolitan Queensland, collaborating with our partners in government, health care, education, community and business to grow communities where best lives are lived.

They saw that older people needed help and care, so they opened their first aged care home in 1979. They have grown and now have 5 retirement villages, 12 aged care facilities, 28 social houses, and services for people with disabilities. They also offer community home care services across South East Queensland. They work with other organizations to provide 24/7 care and support to over 2000 older people. Their goal is to help people live their best lives.
