SEPCOL has successfully set up a 135MW thermal power generation project near Lahore based upon medium-speed diesel engines at a cost of about US$ 155 million. The Company is recognized as one of the key Independent Power Producers (IPPs) in the country and demonstrated its financial potential with an annual turnover of over Rs 4 billion. The Company, however, went into financial turmoil in the past few years due to the forced and unjust closure of its plant for about two years by WAPDA during 2008 – 2009.
