As of July 1, 2018, the name of our college has been changed from "The College of Business" to "The College of Business and Economic Development". We are embracing our new identity in hopes that it will reflect the commitment to be catalysts of progress in our community. We strive to create opportunities for our students to have relevant experiences to better prepare them for what is to come after graduation. Many courses involve working alongside businesspeople, allowing our students to learn from one-on-one, hands-on experiences. With the new name, we have also restructured and simplified the schools within our college. We now have four schools: The School of Accountancy, The School of Finance, The School of Management, and The School of Marketing. It is a great time to be part of the Southern Miss family and we are looking to this exciting year ahead. The College of Business and Economic Development continues to accomplish innovative steps in the curriculum and to establish global connections to enhance student abilities through projects, programs, study abroad, and internships. We are redefining our look and focusing on the legacy elements that make USM and the CBE a signature program.What is today's picture of business success? It is among the most important questions we continually consider at The University of Southern Mississippi's College of Business and Economic Development. We believe our success is determined by how well we educate Southern Miss students so that they may lead companies and communities not only across Mississippi but also to nations around the world.We are Southern Miss Business and we are CONNECTING WITH PEOPLE as CATALYSTS FOR PROGRESS.
