In 2003 a group of individuals began meeting to address the need to plan for the future of the Southland community. Initial objectives were to form a totally inclusive organization focused on increasing the viability of the Southland community, making it a more attractive, safe and welcoming place to shop, eat, live and do business. In 2004 the group officially organized. By joining together, our Southland Association members have proven their ability to work with private and public entities to achieve needed community improvements. How The Southland Association benefits the community: • Facilitating networking between merchants, neighborhoods, and the larger community • Sharing opportunities for progress in a timely manner • Providing a forum for discussion and problem solving • Cooperating to achieve large accomplishments by coordinating the efforts of people in our area, government, and other organizations
