The Space Infrastructure Foundation is a no-employee, non-profit (501(c)(3) organization. The purposes of the Foundation are to promote the use of space through the promotion and application of technical standards for space systems and their use. These activities are both charitable and educational promotions (as defined by the IRS in Publication 4220) using space solutions based on existing and future space technical standards. Specifically: EDUCATION: We will conduct and support public discussion groups, forums, panels, and lectures. We will develop and present courses of instruction through professional training courses, correspondence and electronic media. CHARITY: We will apply space infrastructure, as based on openly developed and published technical standards, to provide relief or help to those in need. We will advance education in the space technical standards. We will build and maintain infrastructure of the space sector for the global good. Through our work in technical standards development we will reduce the need for governmental technical support to the infrastructure. Through enhancement of the infrastructure we will strengthen local, regional, and global community services. STANDARDS: We will support the standards development process up to and including the international level. We view technical space standards as the enabling component of the space infrastructure for our educational and charitable efforts.
