Defense & Space - Enschede, Overijssel, Netherlands
Space Society Twente is an association for everyone with an interest in space exploration, astronomy and earth observation. Our main goal is to create awareness about space technologies and their impact on Earth through performing innovative research in low-Earth orbit and facilitating knowledge transfer between the space industry and our members. We organize guest lectures, excursions, workshops and social activities, while actively supporting several engineering initiatives, the most ambitious one to date being the design and construction of TwenteSat-1: a student-built microsatellite, or CubeSat, aimed at developing an in-space autonomous navigation network for other spacecraft.Additionally, Space Society Twente hosts NASA's annual International Space Apps Challenge in Enschede and offers its members priority access to internships and graduation assignments in the space industry through its strategic partnerships with organizations such as the Space Business Innovation Centre and HE Space. We also frequently visit partners and other organizations in the space industry to ensure that our members will have the opportunity to build the professional network they deserve. For those interested in becoming active within Space Society Twente, there is ample opportunity to contribute to interesting and impactful projects by taking up a position in our board, project teams or committees.
