S.P.A.R.K is a STEAM (Science, technology, Engineering, arts and mathematics) centred Non-Profit Organization that aims to bring STEAM focused education, competitions and services to accessible to youth in the GTA. We host an annual 24-hour Hackathon and pitch competition for high school students. On arrival, participants were given a topic for which they programmed, developed, designed and pitched their end product to a panel of judges. Along with that, there were many different activities that ran throughout the 24 hours. Participants were given the opportunity to work with like-minded individuals with one common goal, expressing their passion for STEAM.We have hosted two successful Hackathons. In 2018 we hosted the competition at the McMaster Innovation Park with about 170 Participants, Mentors, judges and volunteers. In 2019, we hosted the competition at Humber College with about 300 participants, judges, speakers, mentors and volunteers.Website: startthespark.info
