For 165 years, The Spencerville Agricultural Society has served as our community's connection between rural and urban living, and we very much take pride in this collaboration. We are here to represent and celebrate agriculture through education and teachable moments.Successfully executing our fair and year-round events throughout the past 165 years has not been possible without facing our fair share of obstacles. Our core foundation is built on the kindness and devotion of our volunteers; as a non-profit organization, we rely on the tiresome dedication of people who work around the clock to plan and run the events we have come to love. However, we have seen a significant decline in volunteering interest over the years. We've faced the financial burdens of attending to essential renovations to our venues, adverse weather conditions, and less than adequate attendance ratings. Consequently, our society has suffered a loss in our funds and we have struggled to effectively resolve this conflict. With this loss, we recognized that we are unable to continue running our beloved fair to the standards we ensure, which will impact our ability to give back to our community. In order to ensure the success and continued prosperity of our society for years to come, we need to reach out to our community. This would mean relying on volunteer support and resources from the people who have made these 165 years possible. Our plan will be to recruit local vendors for food and agriculture-based attractions, while prioritizing the inclusivity of the community. We, The Spencerville Agricultural Society, want to find our way back to success by finding our way back to what matters most to us: our traditions, our roots, and most importantly, you.
