Cliff Holland is President and founder of Spill Management Inc. He has been involved in the chemical field since 1980 when he worked with a variety of chemicals on a daily basis. He collected and disposed of all types of chemicals with every sort of hazard. He was on a spill response team for several years and has field experience in dealing with buried drums of unknown chemicals, gasoline spills, explosives, corrosives, flammables, air reactives and toxics in a variety of situations from labs and hospitals to industrial facilities and road sides. He understands the problems of working in self contained breathing apparatus and confined spaces. He helped establish the first transfer site designated for laboratory-sized chemical waste, he operated Central Ontario's first dewatering and fixation plant, he negotiated Canada's first household waste day program in conjunction with the Region of Kitchener-Waterloo and the Ministry of the Environment, and he has worked with military personnel and the police in the disposal of shock-sensitive and unstable products. He taught Spill Response at Lambton College and moved on to travelling across Canada with Spill Management teaching all types of employees from the workers in the field and the managers, to the professors at University. In February 2016 his science paper called "Hard Science" Disciplined Approach to Identify and Verify Chemical Properties for Safe Response, Handling and Disposal was published in the Journal of Environmental Protection (DOI: 10.4236/jep.2016.73034 http://www.scirp.org/journal/jep/ ).
