Hospital & Health Care - Newtown, Pennsylvania, United States
At Splashblocker, LLC we are committed to protecting nurses, caregivers and healthcare personnel from exposures to infectious diseases and hazardous drugs generated from toilet plume aerosols. These exposures can result in adverse health effects routinely encountered when handling and disposing of human waste containing chemotherapeutics and antineoplastics. These hazardous drugs remain in human waste, urine, and body fluids anywhere between 48-to-72 hours after a patient has chemotherapy treatment.Disposing of waste into a toilet can cause splash back called a "toilet plume". These plumes can result in exposures to bloodborne and infectious diseases, as well as harmful chemicals. This can result in occupational illness and/or infection. Our mission is to prevent those dangerous occupational exposures and to partner with healthcare facilities to provide a safer working environment for staff and caregivers.
