The Sport Science Institute Groningen (SSIG) is a collaboration in sport science and education between the three biggest knowledge- and education institutes of Groningen (University of Groningen, University Medical Center Groningen and Hanze University of Applied Sciences) and the City of Groningen. SSIG is a strong multidisciplinary network for sharing and developing sport scientific knowledge within three main themes:- Sport & Healthy Ageing- Sport & Performance - Sport & Sustainable SocietyThe main aims of SSIG are to:- Bring together fundamental and applied sport research in Groningen- Develop education/study trajectories within sport- Increase the national and international visibility of sport science expertise within the city/region of Groningen- Promote collaboration and increase knowledge transfer between science, practice, and policymakers in the area of sport
