Education/Training - Battersea, London, UK
St John Bosco College is a voluntary-aided school within the trusteeship of the Salesians of Don Bosco and the Archdiocese of Southwark, our ethos is based on the teachings of the Roman Catholic Church and the educational approach of Saint John Bosco. We are a co-educational, comprehensive school meeting the needs of children of all abilities, from 11-18 years of age. Our facilities include specialist provision for children with autism, in our Savio base.Whilst we are rightly proud of our new school buildings in the heart of Battersea we are equally proud that our school is built on a religious and educational tradition stretching back to the 19th century. The Salesian founder St John Bosco, first established his ‘Oratario' in Turin, Italy, in the 1840s on the principles of high educational standards and sound moral and religious education.St John Bosco's educational philosophy was rooted in his faith and has been summarized as ‘reason, religion and kindness'. We aim to educate our pupils with these three words in mind, focusing on their academic and spiritual development and modelling the values of love and forgiveness found in the gospel. At St John Bosco College each child is known personally by staff and is well-supported throughout their time at school to achieve to the very best of their abilities in a happy and positive environment.
