"The real measurement of a school is not in its building or resources. It is about the strength and effectiveness of the people who belong to its community."Founded in 1833, St Malachy's College is a Catholic Grammarschool for boys. We take great pride in the history of the Collegewhich was opened on StMalachy's Day 3rd November 1833. TheCollege began with eight boarders and ten day boys. Today thepopulation has grown to over 1000 pupils. The boys, with the coatof arms of the Diocese of Down and Connor, on their school badgeremain loyal to the rich tradition of the College. The Catholic Christian ethos of the College is reflected in theschool motto:-Gloria ab Intus'. This reminds us all of theimportance of ‘Glory from within' and we, through our work, endeavour to honour Bishop Crolly and the founders of theCollege.St Malachy's, as a Catholic school, seeks through its ethos torecognise and respect the uniqueness of all individuals, to enablethem to reach their full potential and to help create the world asGod intends it to be (John Paul II).
