St. Mary's Dining Room responds to poverty in San Joaquin County by feeding the hungry, caring for health issues and restoring human dignity to over 700 individuals each day.Our vision is to see a community where all are empowered and able to be self-reliant, independent as well as able to meet their physical emotional and psychological well-beingOUR PROGRAMSKITCHEN AND DINING ROOMThe dining room is open 7 days a week serving a hot, nutritious breakfast and lunch. A sack meal is distributed at 2 pm.MEN'S SERVICESThe men's services department is open Monday through Friday, enabling our clients to shower and receive an exchange of clothing. Haircuts are also provided several days each week.WOMEN'S AND CHILDREN'S SERVICESThe women's services department serves women and children Monday through Friday. Services include showers, hygiene products, clean clothes. Diapers and formula, when available, are also distributed to parents.MEDICAL CLINICAll doctors, nurses and pharmacists are volunteers serving the uninsured. Eye exams are also given and prescription eye glass provided free of charge to those who need them.DENTAL CLINICAll dentists and dental hygienists are volunteers serving the uninsured. Our clinic is the only one of its kind in San Joaquin County.SOCIAL SERVICESThe social services department staff and volunteers provide case management for clients by assisting with applications and forms, securing emergency shelter, and referrals to other programs. Homeless Court is held once a month, allowing individuals to clear up old traffic tickets, minor criminal charges and fines.HEAD STARTThe Child Development Council provides preschool, as well as infant and toddler programs.
