St. Patrick's Festival Berlin Details
The St.Patrick's Festival Berlin was launched in 2011 on a rainy day in Kreuzberg. The 150 strong parade rejoiced in the Irish-like weather and made it's way through Görlitzer park to the bemusement of others. In 2012 we led up to the parade with a series of Irish film screenings and by the day itself, with the TV Tower turning green, well over one thousand revelers dressed in their green, white and orange met in the sunshine of Spreewaldplatz. The Irish Ambassador to Germany said a few uplifting words before the Berlin Pipe Band roused the crowd and we all proudly marched through the park to the bemusement of others. In 2013 we will build up the excitement with a full week of events. By the next St.Patrick's day we will again gatherer proudly together in our best Irish colours and costumes. This time we will march the STREETS of Kreuzberg. Afterwards we'll be hosting an outdoor concert with a fine selection of Irish foods and drinks. The third annual St.Patrick's Festival Berlin will rock Europe's capital leaving no further room for bemusement.
