Religious Institutions - Auburn, New York, United States
St. Peter and Paul Ukrainian Catholic Church was founded in 1901 by several Ukrainian immigrant families, looking to have a church of their own, in order to preserve their faith traditions and culture. The current beautiful church building was built in 1910, as the expanding Ukrainian community soon outgrew their original wooden church. Since then, many generations of Ukrainians and Ukrainian Americans have been baptized, married, and buried by priests throughout the parish's 119 year history. Today we work hard to preserve what those first immigrants so dearly cherished and to promote the faith, along with Ukrainian culture, in which it is a fundamental element.
