Stanes-Anglo Indian Higher Secondary School has a very rich history, right from its humble beginning to its present day stature.Stanes School was started by its founder Sir Robert Stanes in a rented house near Kumaran Market, in 1862, with two boys, two girls and two teachers. From there, the school moved to a house near the TELC Church, and operated there for more than 50 years. From there, the school was again shifted to a building, which is the General Post Office today.As the number of students grew, Sir Robert Stanes bought the present campus and started building in 1927."The unseen foundation of the new building was being laid on the solid ground of God's Word, the Bible" were Sir Robert Stanes' words on the big day.This school has ever been noted as a Protestant Evangelical School, where the word of God is read and taught daily.Over these 157 years, the school has grown in leaps and bounds.
