Higher Education - Stanford, California, United States
Established in 1957, Stanford Sociology is home to some of the nation's leading scholars and teachers on inequality. Our faculty's expertise spans several fields within this broad topic, including demography, economic sociology, gender and sex, race/ethnicity, social networks, and social psychology, to name a few. We are committed to using a diverse set of methodologies--such as computational analysis, ethnography, in-depth interviewing, statistics, and archival work--to study the social world. We pride ourselves on pathbreaking scientific research that helps to make a difference in the world, and we train our students in this vision.
