In 1980, Vern Starr opened a Farm Bureau Insurance agency named Starr Insurance Agency. The agency was built on 5 basic principals; hard work, treat clients like family, properly educate the community on insurance options, offer superior customer service, and focus on always giving back to the community of Monroe. Over 30 years later nothing has changed. In 2010 Vern's son Ben Starr (agent since 2003) and daughter-in-law Kelsey Starr (agent since 2009) purchased the agency intent on keeping those same 5 basic principals alive. "When we set our agency goals for the year the first thing we discuss is our community giveback. Monroe does so much to support us, it only seems right to make the community a priority," says Ben Starr. Starr Insurance Agency Inc. is most proud of its recent "Monroe's Best of the Best" Award for the 2013 top rated Insurance Agency in Monroe, voted by the public. "It was amazing to find out," says Ben Starr. "I know Monroe is still considered a small town in Michigan, but to Kelsey and I it was huge news! Seeing the Monroe community vote for us like that has renewed our focus and intensity!" added Ben. Starr Insurance Agency Inc. provides nearly every possible insurance need.
