The State Research and Production Enterprise "Aerogeologia" is an organization of the Russian Ministry of Natural Resources, working toward development and deployment of aerospace methods for geological mapping, prospecting and exploration.. Since it's establishment and till mid 1980-s main efforts in organization were concentrated on much then needed geological mapping for the territory of the former Soviet Union. Those efforts resulted in publication of 1:1.000.000 and 1:200.000 scales State Geological maps for more than a quarter of the USSR territory.Currently, "Aerogeologia" is involved in various projects, including mapping of the contemporary state of the natural environment, aerospace monitoring; emergency analysis and investigations of regions affected by natural and/or anthropogenic catastrophes, studies of the environmental (ecological) state of production facilities and urbanization areas. Staff of the company consists of about 250 employees.The Enterprise has a great deal of experience of working in many foreign countries on prospecting and exploration of diverse mineral resources, within both inland and offshore areas. The list of those countries include Guinea, Angola, Senegal, Namibia, Sierra Leone, Mozambique, Ethiopia, Libya, Tunis, Mongolia, China, Laos, Vietnam, Syria, Yemen, Iran, Afghanistan, Poland, Czechoslovakia, Bulgaria, Hungary, France, Germany, Canada, USA, Brazil, Venezuela, Peru, etc.
