Statiker Works Inc. is a solution provider for structural engineering projects and seismic, wind and blast consultancy. It was founded by J. J. Lou, Ph. D., P.E. in 2021 as a consulting engineering firm. The firm's principal Dr. Lou has consulted on numerous high-rise building and special-structure projects in the US and around the world. He was trained as a structural engineer, earning his Master of Science degree in Fluid Mechanics and Wind Engineering. Thus, uniquely equipped to meet challenges of analyzing & designing high-rise buildings or long-span structures subjected to wind loads, some at hurricane levels. His doctorate degree in Probabilistic Mechanics enabled him to deal with structures subjected to random dynamic loadings such as earthquake, wind and blast. With over 40+ years experiences collaborating with architects, developers, contractors, various professional and trade groups, Dr. Lou has demonstrated his grasp on constructability, cost-effectiveness, trouble shooting and timely delivery of engineering projects. Dr. Lou has been teaching continuously for the past 25 years as an adjunct industry professor at NYU's Tandon School of Engineering. He was a past national committee member of ASCE's Structural Safety and Reliability. He has published extensively based on his real-life engineering experiences, such as a pioneering paper on "The Wind Response of Elevator Systems in a Tall Building" and was an invited speaker at Construction Specifier Institute CSI annual meeting on "Metal and Glass Construction", to name a few.
