The purpose of the International Evangelical Lutheran Church is to worship the Triune God and by evangelism to bring others into the worshiping community. Contrary to the conventional understanding, true Christian worship is not something we do to serve God. In the true sense, it is God who serves us by offering and granting us forgiveness, life, and salvation through His Word and Sacraments. Further He enables us to respond to His gracious gifts with our sacrifices of praise, prayer, and thanksgiving. Refreshed at the divine service we go home strengthened, refreshed, and equipped to do God's will by serving our neighbor in love.
