Sonia Taylor Crichton as the Principal has an extensive background in strategiccommunications development, marketing, brand, and advertising strategy. Herexperience working within studios and agencies began with web content developmentat Idea Machine (a Calgary-based design company operating in the 1990s). She hasworked in the Calgary advertising scene for over 25 years and particularly with twoworldwide organizations: TBWA-Calgary and Ogilvy & Mather Calgary.Working with clients that included American Express, Absolut Vodka, Telus, ShawCommunications, Direct Energy, First Calgary Savings, Reliance Protectron SecurityServices, Smart Technologies, and Canadian Home Income Plan - to name a few. Shewas also a General Manager for a communications division, and spent 10 years ashead of the brand for a North American utility company overseeing communications, UX,marketing, sponsorship, brand, and advertising while leading a comprehensive team of 30 talented employees. She has received many recognized advertising awards which include an AMPIA (Alberta Motion Picture Industry Awards) and internationally the Charge Energy Branding Award.She decided to leave the utility company to support a local Calgary start-up prior toCovid-19 after editing her husband's first novel. During Covid-19 she had theopportunity to work for District Ventures supporting amazing entrepreneurs like Balzac's, Premama, One World Foods, and Flourish.Working with these talented entrepreneurs inspired Sonia in realizing many organizations need to define their goals and growth strategy, hence she established STC Communications in the summer of 2021.
