Steer North is a registered health promotion charity whose purpose is to inspire and empower people to live healthy and active lives. By cycling through regional and rural Australia, Steer North creates a mobile community that cultivates capacity, inspires ideas, stimulates action and advances health from the grassroots up.Our mission is:• To inspire people to live active and creative lives.• To support those living with chronic diseases and the institutions that care for them.• To advance health by leading and advocating for health promotion policies and programs.Our signature event is an annual 4000 km cycling journey from Melbourne, Victoria to Cairns, Queensland. With a cycling route that captures over 65% of the Australian population, the Steer North Ride engages large and small communities across Australia in the aim of inspiring and empowering young adults to live healthy and active lives.
