Stella Polaris supports our customers to realize the opportunities found in machine learning. Machine learning models are becoming increasingly powerful, but at the same time they are also getting more complex. Several AI-platforms have been developed as a response, but these often fail to cater for domain specific conditions. In addition, the models remain "black boxes" due to the intrinsic challenge for humans to understand how they operate under the hood. Understandably this leads to a lack of trust for the solutions and uncertainty regarding their reliability and fairness. Stella Polaris was founded to address these issues by way of two services. The first one focus on bespoke prototyping of machine learning solutions. With a rapid prototyping approach different hypothesis can explored and quantitively evaluated. Secondly, a dedicated dashboard unboxes the black box models by quantifying and visualizing how the output is generated on various level. The dashboard enables a better understanding of how the models behave and insights into regions where they might be less reliable or prone to be biased. Throughout the implementation the clients are highly involved in key activities to ensure that domain knowledge is leveraged and that the solution fits into the overall value chain with a measurable impact.
