We deliver a support services to young people (YP) who are in need of accommodation and support, in order to help them realise their full potential and ultimately achieve independent living. The YP we work with as part of these contracts, have come from a range of ethnic, cultural and religious backgrounds and have displayed a variety of needs including:Learning difficultiesPhysical disabilityMental health issuesCriminal involvementUnaccompanied asylum seekersBeing a teenage parentDrug and alcohol issuesComplex needsWe support YP in achieving independent living through the provision of low, medium and high level support, depending on their needs . Our low level support offers the provision of accommodation with floating support. Our moderate level support offers in transition flats and supported housing. Our high level support offers in 24 hour units which are staffed 24 hours a day with a maximum of five young residents at any one time.We have worked in partnership with the Local Authorities, other agencies and families (where appropriate) to develop journeys of support through our services.Key Workers work closely with YP to help motivate, inspire and support them in achieving the above outcomes. YP are Key Worked on a weekly basis for the agreed hours to address their care plan. The key strengths of our YP-centred care packages include:Emotional supportSupport in overcoming individual issues e.g. offending behaviour, drug and alcohol abuse, difficult relationships with family / friends etc.Guidance in accessing education / training / employmentRecommendations for local community, leisure and social activitiesDiplomatic support (citizenship, hygiene)etc.Practical support aka life skills Support in accessing local health services, such as the doctor, dentist and opticianEncouraging a sense of ownership and independence through support with finances and budgeting.Support with planning and moving into long term sustainable housing
