Leisure/Hospitality - Aztec, NM, US
The STEP BACK INN in Aztec, New Mexico is a modern hotel with a touch of Victorian charm and the hospitality found in small town America. The Inn is locally owned and operated by a pioneer family. This charming hotel offers 40 rooms, each of which is named after one of Aztec's pioneer families who settled in the community in the late 1800s. Each of the rooms is decorated with historic photos, and furnished with comfortable beds, an antique replica armoire, and a modern recliner for your comfort. In addition to the historic photos decorating the walls, each room has a book with the story of the pioneer family that the room was named after. The atmosphere is much like a bed & breakfast with a home-like feel — many of our guests comment that it is more like staying at grandma's house than staying at a hotel. The Step Back Inn is featured in the National Geographic Unique Lodges of the World and is part of the Spanish Trail. Come stay with us and feel what it is like to "Step Back" into the Victorian era and the pioneer days of Aztec, NM!
