The Stephanie Alexander Kitchen Garden Foundation takes a revolutionary approach to food education focusing on pleasure, flavour and fun via the Stephanie Alexander Kitchen Garden Program, and the Kitchen Garden Classroom membership service. The Program's purpose is to provide Australian primary school students with the skills and experiences they need to develop a positive, lifelong relationship with good food, by showing them how to grow, harvest, prepare and share fresh, seasonal, delicious dishes as part of their school curriculum. Over 800 Australian schools with a primary curriculum are now delivering the Kitchen Garden Program, reaching around 100,000 children and their families every year. The Kitchen Garden ClassroomAs of March 2015 all early learning centres, primary schools, secondary schools and education and health organisations can join the Kitchen Garden Classroom. Members gain access to the Shared Table - the online kitchen garden community - training, educational resources and support to deliver pleasurable food education. Members are encouraged to run their own model of pleasurable food education with minimal facilities and outlay, and Foundation staff members are available for guidance.
