Steven Henry is a bass clarinetist and composer. He studied clarinet at the Fontys Conservatory in Tilburg and specialised on bass clarinet with Henri Bok. At the Eindhoven University of Technology Steven Henry graduated in the field of physics. He sometimes performs as a soloist, but mostly with various musicians and ensembles, including the trio Rodinia, the Arundo Kwintet, and singer/songwriter duo Meander and various other ensembles and orchestras, like The Next Ensemble. As a composer he made his first success with "Wals van Fantasie", a composition for concert band, which has been performed in various countries. In May 2016, one of his latest compositions "Binary Digits", a work for windensemble and percussion, was well received by musicians, press and public. In addition to compositions for concert bands, Steven Henry also writes works for smaller ensembles.At Microlab on Strijp-S in Eindhoven Steven Henry has his own studio. This is the place where he rehearses, works on his new compositions, makes recordings and where he teaches (bass) clarinet. Steven Henry is a Dutch ambassador for the Henri Selmer Paris (bass) clarinets.
