Inappropriate medication in children poses serious risks. Kiddy Goodpills is committed to improving medication for children. Children often receive the same drugs as adult patients, with only the dosage adjusted for their body weight. This seems logical, but children are still developing and respond very differently to medicines than adults. The illnesses are also often different from those of adults. In fact, half of the drugs doctors prescribe for children have not been tested for safety or efficacy in children. Because inappropriate medication in children poses serious health risks, the Kiddy Goodpills Foundation believes that children's medication should be researched and tailored to children. Then they are safe.Kiddy Goodpills therefore, under the permanent supervision of its own medical-scientific advisory board, gathers all there is to know about the unknown effects of children's medication. With the aim of making medicines for children safer, that treatments become more effective and thus more children heal with fewer side effects. Two spearheads have been formulated for this:1) Raise funds to enable necessary drug research in children2) To draw as much attention as possible to the problem from all concerned.
