Stoke Mandeville Parish Council is the local council for Stoke Mandeville parish, comprising Stoke Mandeville village, Stoke Leys, Hawkslade and Stoke Grange. The parish of Stoke Mandeville covers approximately 1,600 acres and has a population of about 4,500. It is a mainly residential area on the outskirts of Aylesbury, growing fast as a consequence of regional housing development and an important commuter settlement for London.Nearby Stoke Mandeville Hospital, the historic birthplace of the Paralympic Games, was originally within the Parish and takes its name from it.
